about

This is the first solo recording of country blues I’ve made since the mid-1970s. For this project, apart from my own tunes, I wanted to retain particular aspects of the songs that I was starting with, but always to be introducing different elements, as well—perhaps a new melody, different lyrics or a new harmonization, in addition to, in every instance, a different accompaniment. I treasure what I’ve learned from the many great musicians in this style, but I suppose I wanted to say things my own way on this go-round.

about

John Miller Bellingham, Washington

I made my first recordings at the age of 21, a solo Country Blues album "First Degree Blues" and one with Bluegrass trailblazers Country Cooking. I released four more solo albums before I turned thirty. After a long lay-off, started recording again in the '90s with instrumental duos, duos where I backed singers, solo recording and larger ensembles. You'll be able to find it all here. ... more
